Enhanced Web Presence of Window Manufacturer for Better Insights and Perspective
Baumgartner Fenster, the Swiss family company, provides a new type of wood-glass composite technology for creating windows and sliding doors, to offer top value in insulation, density, and sound insulation. It has a state-of-the-art production facility; which means, in fully automatic production, an annual volume of around 300,000m2 is achieved, which corresponds to approximately 150,000 window frames and sashes.
Baumgartner Fenster needed a new website, which could provide insights into their impressive production facility and the work areas of the employees. They also wanted a filter function in their reference database, so that customers and interested parties could gain an overview of the various application options as quickly as possible. The details of their two most innovative products – lifting and sliding door and «Saphir Integral» window – were needed to be visualized with graphics. The company, mainly active in the Swiss market, also needed a bilingual website in German and French. Moreover, the «Gottfried Baumgartner Innovation Project» needed a separate web environment with its own logo. An additional requirement was to give the print products of Baumgartner Fenster an appealing redesign according to the CI/CD specifications in addition to the website.

Pimcore’s Gold partner, Brunner Medien, was able to achieve all of Baumgartner Fensterʼs goals. Two websites, each with its own domain and template, were set up in the same Pimcore instance. With a click on the corresponding logo, they could switch between the two. Visitors to the Baumgartner website were greeted with a responsive full-screen slider with video images of the near-natural logistics system. Built-in videos provided an insight into Baumgartnerʼs production processes and quality standards.
With Pimcore, it was easy to program different content modules (bricks) adapted to the customers’ needs. A product database helped with uniformly structured recording and presentation of different products. Interested parties could filter the completed Baumgartner projects by object and product type as well as by region in a database of reference objects. Besides, an employee database was also created. The filter function enables the right contact persons to be found quickly.
Baumgartner Fenster now has a modern, two-part website. The editing of both sides takes place in only one operating environment, so no data needs to be transferred or copied. The website could be operated efficiently, and requests for future functions could be easily implemented. Baumgartner Fenster now also presents itself online as an innovative and future-oriented company.
