Problems within the industry of didactic training equipment

In vocational schools, training centers, polytechnics, community colleges and engineering faculties many technical subjects are mainly taught in a hands-on manner with didactic technical training equipment. As the training provided needs to be on-par with technological development, educators, trainers and professors, regularly need to source new training systems for their labs, workshops and classrooms. Historically it is very time consuming and expensive to search, find, evaluate, source, commission, install, and train for new didactic systems applied in vocational or technical education. This is mainly due to the structure of the industry, alongside the typical personalization for each customer. The team behind Edquip decided to make this purchase process easier for the customers by aggregating and pooling together didactic products from different producers. The aim was to provide high quality information alongside productivity tools, to help the customers to save both time and money
Case Study: Timo Wohlin-Elkovsky, Founder & CEO of Edquip
"We knew that the system would have to manage a lot of product listings, so we looked for a PIM which would be easy to work with for non-developer staff. It was also important for us that the solution would maintain flexibility while being robust enough for future growth. We landed on Pimcore and it has been great support for our operations so far!"

Solution

Using technology to help customers save both time and money

The solution developed was an online marketplace, where educators can easily search for training systems by categories, and narrow their searches with filters, to quickly find what they are looking for. There are comparison functionalities where the customer can compare underlying parameters for various similar products from different manufacturers. The customer can further go into detailed product and producer reviews to understand the efficacy of the educational knowledge transfer. The customer can request quotations straight from the manufacturers and find the best solution for them through an elaborate bidding system built into the Edquip marketplace. Simultaneously the marketplace offers the producers of didactic equipment to increase reach, decrease costs, and manage their online reputation in one single place.
"We love challenges and the Edquip project was definitely a big one. To build state-of-the-art solutions and provide best possible results is apart of our DNA and thanks to opportunity given by Edquip we were able to build a project enabling amazing experience to customers looking for education equipment."
