In 1957 ZGONC mainly sold used tools and machines. Today, the company is THE specialty store for tools, machines, construction and garden equipment – “unerreicht in Österreich” (unmatched in Austria). Speaking of success: In the digital world, ZGONC is now forging ahead with a brand-new online presence by elements. After a good seven years, it was time to give the outdated website an upgrade to bring it up to the state of the art.

The challenge: numerous wishes and requirements from stakeholders

Existing partners, the search provider, the payment provider and, of course, ZGONC itself: They all had unique requirements regarding the new website and expressed their individual wishes. This resulted in a long to-do list, which presented a number of challenges. There were numerous system connections and interfaces that had to be set up in the backend – always with the aim of achieving an increase in the level of automation. To turn prospects into buyers, a new online store was needed. Purchase-encouraging features such as watch lists, 360-degree animations and the possibility to reserve products in stores were used to boost sales in the ZGONC webshop.

The successful collaboration will continue in the future: The next steps include the development of a concept for the optimization of the web performance as well as the online integration of the “jö” customer club.
