Pimcore Platform Version 2025.3 is available this October—with a strong focus on editorial comfort, AI flexibility, and day-to-day performance. For the first time, documents are supported in Pimcore Studio as a preview—a major highlight. In addition, the Platform Version 2025.3 brings the much-requested TinyMCE editor back to Professional and Enterprise Edition, broadens our Copilot capabilities with OpenAI-compatible Chat Completions, extends Generic Data Index coverage, and delivers dozens of quality and reliability improvements across the stack.
TinyMCE is back for Professional and Enterprise Edition customers. We have sat together with Tiny Inc and made a deal to bring back TinyMCE 7 as a separate bundle so teams can enjoy the best-in-class WYSIWYG experience with straightforward updates via Composer. For most projects, migrating from past setups is smooth; if you implemented custom extensions, please follow TinyMCE’s upgrade notes to ensure continuity. Outcome: faster onboarding for editors, fewer workarounds, and proven authoring experience that stays current over time.
Copilot now supports AI text generation through the widely adopted Chat Completions API format. This means you can choose from multiple LLM providers—OpenAI, Hugging Face Inference Endpoints, RunPod, and others—switch with minimal configuration, and tap into a growing ecosystem built around this standard. Outcome: flexible procurement, faster experimentation, and easy portability across vendors.
The generic-data-index-bundle has received a major upgrade, bringing noticeable improvements in both performance and stability. Some of the key enhancements include:
GDI now also integrates with more Pimcore bundles and their custom data types, including Data Quality Management, Frontend Permission Toolkit, Ecommerce Framework, Personalization, and Newsletter. This brings more of your operational data into a unified index—improving search, visibility, and downstream automation across solutions.
These updates enhance the indexing workflow's robustness and scalability, ensuring smoother performance under heavy workloads.
Special thanks to Dominik Pfaffenbauer for his valuable input!
Overall, this release feels faster and smoother in everyday use. Interfaces are clearer and easier to work with, updates run more reliably with fewer interruptions, and routine cleanup now happens automatically to keep everything stable behind the scenes. You’ll also receive clearer signals when something needs attention, allowing teams to resolve issues quickly and stay focused on their work.
To make Studio the natural hub for daily work, we’ve brought over a long list of classic UI features, which will be shipped in a pre-release together with Platform Version 2025.3.
We’ve been working on our new game-changing interface, Pimcore Studio, for quite some time — and very soon it will become the default way of working with Pimcore.
Today marks a big milestone: for the first time ever, all core Pimcore data types — data objects, assets, and now documents — are available in Studio. With this release, Pimcore Documents (still in preview) can be experienced for the very first time.
Why is this such a significant step? Now, Pimcore editors can access the vast majority of Pimcore’s core functionalities directly in the easy, smart, and beautifully redesigned interface of Pimcore Studio. This is more than just an update — it’s a true game-changer for how users work with Pimcore.
The following is a non-exclusive list of new features:
We invite all users and partners to explore the new interface and experience its powerful capabilities firsthand. Outcome: easier adoption and less context switching while retaining the reliability you know.
Over the course of 2025, Pimcore Studio 1.0 will be released, enabling editors to perform all basic tasks related to data objects, assets, and documents. According to your previously communicated roadmap plan, administrative tasks are not included in this release and will instead be shipped in Q1 2026, moving toward full feature parity with Admin UI Classic. We have also extended public support for Platform Version 2024.4 until the release of Platform Version 2025.4. LTS support for this version remains unchanged.
Pimcore Platform 2025.3 has just been released—experience it today! Professional and Enterprise Edition customers can deploy the TinyMCE bundle and keep it current via Composer. If you rely on custom TinyMCE extensions, plan a brief review against the official upgrade notes.

Thank you to our partners and community for the continuous flow of pull requests and feedback. Your contributions directly shape the platform’s velocity and quality in this release.
API-first, and enterprise-ready—built to unify data and experiences at scale. If you’re a customer or partner planning an upgrade or rollout, our team is here to help you get the most from 2025.3.
