With Platform Version 2026.2, Pimcore continues its commitment to delivering a modern, secure, and enterprise-ready Data and Experience Management platform. This release focuses on platform maintenance, operational transparency, performance optimization, and continued investment in Pimcore Studio.
While many updates happen behind the scenes, the business impact is significant: faster operations, improved governance, stronger security, simplified maintenance, and a more productive user experience.
Following the General Availability milestone achieved with Platform Version 2026.1, the focus for Pimcore Studio has shifted toward stabilization, reliability, and workflow optimization.
Based on extensive partner and customer feedback, the Pimcore team has invested heavily in improving overall product quality, ensuring a smoother and more dependable experience for enterprise implementations. These improvements reinforce Pimcore Studio as the future workspace for managing product information, digital assets, and digital experiences.
The latest enhancements in Pimcore Studio help users work more efficiently, collaborate more effectively, and simplify everyday tasks. From improved search and localization workflows to enhanced customization, monitoring, and administration capabilities, these new features streamline operations and provide greater flexibility across the platform.
Translation Split Screen. The new Translation Split Screen for Data Objects enables users to maintain multiple languages simultaneously within a single workspace, improving localization workflows and reducing context switching.
Theme Manager. A powerful new Theme Manager gives users greater control over the look and feel of their workspace, making it easy to create personalized themes. What started as the long-promised dark theme has evolved into a complete theme generator, finally bringing a dark theme to Pimcore Studio while enabling extensive UI customization. Users can optimize the interface for any environment, including low-light conditions. This feature will be available with the Enterprise license for Platform Version 2026.2 and later.
Dashboard enhancements. Dashboard enhancements introduce a range of new out-of-the-box widgets focused on data quality and workflow monitoring, providing immediate value without requiring any custom configuration. Teams can quickly gain deeper operational insights, monitor data quality metrics, track workflow progress, and identify potential issues at a glance. With these ready-to-use widgets, organizations can create more informative dashboards with minimal setup effort.
Entity Ownership Management. Give administrators full control over user-owned Studio configurations with the new Entity Ownership Management. Admins can reassign ownership or delete user-based entities, making it easier to manage users leaving the organization, clean up obsolete configurations, and maintain a consistent workspace. By ensuring critical configurations remain accessible and centrally managed, this feature strengthens governance, supports compliance requirements, and helps organizations maintain operational continuity and administrative control.
Platform Version 2026.2 also delivers numerous refinements that improve everyday productivity.
Advanced Columns and grid configurations have been enhanced with improved usability, expanded field support, and a more powerful context menu for faster and more efficient data management.
Language selection has been streamlined through a searchable dropdown component that accelerates navigation in editors and configuration screens. Additional UX and UI improvements simplify navigation, improve consistency, refine interaction patterns, and create a more intuitive overall user experience.
The Data Importer now includes Mapping Autofill capabilities that automatically match source and target fields based on naming conventions and intelligent mapping rules. Translation management is further enhanced through Merge Translations functionality, allowing users to identify and resolve conflicts when importing translation files. This helps maintain consistency and accuracy across multilingual content.
The Pimcore Agent Bundle (Beta) continues to evolve with expanded support for Pimcore Documents. Users can now create and update documents directly through the Agent experience while also generating personalized target-group variants. The release additionally introduces support for Pimcore Document Templates, including the creation and editing of Twig templates.
Proposal handling has been further optimized with improved workflows, automatic element reloads after approval, and enhanced traceability through the ability to reopen approved proposals. Additional optimizations improve MCP tool authorization handling and compatibility with Platform Version 2026.2 and newer. We also performed an extensive evaluation of inference, investigated different inference options, and implemented token usage optimizations to improve efficiency and provide greater transparency into model performance and execution characteristics.

Organizations managing large volumes of digital assets increasingly rely on Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) to deliver content at scale. Platform Version 2026.2 introduces basic CDN cache proxy integration directly into Pimcore. The new implementation enables per-asset and per-thumbnail cache invalidation using HTTP surrogate keys. Out of the box, Pimcore ships with Fastly support while providing a flexible interface that allows organizations to integrate additional CDN providers.
For customers, this means faster content delivery, more efficient cache management, and improved control over digital asset distribution across global channels.
To streamline issue management and improve transparency, Pimcore is consolidating issue handling into a single platform-version repository. Partners and customers can continue reporting issues publicly through GitHub or privately through the Enterprise Portal. Regardless of the reporting channel, all issues receive the same level of attention from the Pimcore team. This unified approach simplifies communication and accelerates issue resolution across the ecosystem.
Starting with Platform Version 2026.2, every release includes a Software Bill of Materials (SBOM). The SBOM provides complete visibility into the software components included in the platform and helps organizations meet increasing compliance, governance, and regulatory requirements. For our customers, this delivers greater confidence during security reviews, procurement processes, internal audits, and customer compliance assessments.
Security remains a core priority for Pimcore. As part of ongoing platform maintenance, several security enhancements have been implemented across supported and Long-Term Support releases. With AI-assisted security analysis becoming increasingly common throughout the industry, these updates help organizations maintain secure, stable, and fully supported Pimcore environments.
Platform Version 2026.2 is the last release in which selected new features and Studio bugfixes are also made available for Platform Version 2025.4. As Pimcore Studio has reached a mature and stable stage with the 2026.2 release, future feature development will focus exclusively on newer platform versions. Starting with releases after 2026.2, all new features and enhancements will only be available in Platform Versions later than 2026.2. This change does not affect the existing LTS offering.
Platform Version 2026.2 demonstrates Pimcore's continued focus on operational excellence, platform governance, enterprise security, and user productivity. By investing in Pimcore Studio and AI-powered capabilities, Pimcore continues to strengthen its position as the leading open-core platform for Product Experience Management, Data Management, and Digital Experience orchestration.
As organizations navigate increasingly complex digital ecosystems, Platform Version 2026.2 delivers the stability, flexibility, and innovation required to build future-ready digital solutions.
