Hence, the task for valantic Austria was to create a centralized solution that intelligently connects content, booking, and customer service into a seamless digital experience. The platform also needed to support multilingual content, flexible travel packages, and a frictionless, user-friendly booking process.

valantic Austria delivered a state-of-the-art system architecture with Pimcore as the single source of truth for all content, travel offers, and assets. The new solution integrates Content Management (CMS), Master Data Management (MDM), Product Information Management (PIM), and Digital Asset Management (DAM) into one powerful Digital Experience Platform (DXP). In addition, a new content strategy was developed to better present train travel offers, while entry points to the travel shop were redesigned to enhance the customer journey. The platform enables multilingual content across three languages and supports a multi-tenant setup, combining the railtour and Frantour brands. Close collaboration between railtour and valantic Austria ensured an efficient project flow within a tight ten-month timeline. Despite parallel updates to the corporate design and ongoing cost optimization, the project was delivered on time and on budget.

The relaunch marked a major leap forward in railtour’s digital journey. What once were three separate websites is now one centralized, multilingual platform that brings the brand into sharper focus. More than 100 travel data objects are live, including 70 destinations and 30 iconic luxury trains such as the Glacier Express, Orient Express, and Al Andalus – all accessible with just a few clicks.The outcome represents a strategic shift toward a more inspiring and intuitive digital travel experience. The Pimcore-based solution brings structure, speed, and scalability, while enabling railtour to guide users from inspiration to booking with ease.And the journey continues: With upcoming enhancements already planned, including advanced tracking and expanded booking functionality, railtour is staying well on track to shape the future of train travel.
