Founded in Heek (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany) in 1995, the publicly traded 2G Energy AG is currently one of the leading international manufacturers of combined heat and power systems for the decentralized production of energy in the output range from 20 to 4,500 kW. As a technological leader with 17 subsidiaries and over 1,000 employees worldwide, we provide holistic energy supply solutions suited to almost any field of application imaginable, including the agricultural sector, municipalities, the housing industry, commercial enterprises, medium-scale and major industrial enterprises, the energy sector and many more. The new website must effectively communicate the complex product portfolio, cutting-edge technologies, and comprehensive services to a broad target audience and do so consistently across all country-specific sites. The goal is to effectively organize services, products, and expertise and guide users through a seamless user experience to exactly where they want to go. A well-structured information architecture and effective communication of information at various levels are key to achieving the goal of lead generation.

Together with our partner Pimcore, we are establishing a digital ecosystem that can seamlessly integrate with existing tools. To this end, we have implemented three systems: Product Information Management (PIM) centrally stores and manages all of 2G Energy’s marketing, sales, and technical product information. Through API integrations, this data can be utilized across all channels. Digital Asset Management (DAM) serves as the central hub for all media assets, such as images, documents, videos, and similar content. This facilitates brand consistency even in countries with limited marketing resources. As a Digital Experience Platform (CMSDXP), we use an open-source software platform that enables the rapid management of personalized digital experiences by providing a unified data foundation for seamless content commerce. This technical foundation enabled the rollout across all countries via a modular system—and paves the way for successful, cross-border lead generation.
The new website is clearly paying off. The brand image remains consistent across international markets, while the platform is generating more leads than ever before. Website traffic has increased significantly, confirming the success of the relaunch. At the same time, 2G Energy is ideally positioned for the future. With Pimcore, additional interfaces can be implemented, such as connecting the 2G Energy store directly to the CMS. This enables consistent communication across all channels and elevates the customer experience to a new level. This creates a scalable digital ecosystem that supports long-term growth worldwide.
