Case Study: Individual Solutions for Dynamic Insurance Applications

For our customer BDAE, we built a very individual form solution by using Pimcore and connected it to the customer's complex data structure. This allows the insurance company to independently build new, dynamic application routes and integrate them on their website.

The Challenge

The BDAE Group offers a wide range of insurance solutions for stays abroad. Over the years, each of these solutions has developed its own digital application processes, which were very similar in structure but different in content. When a new insurance product was added, the associated application processes were individually programmed. This approach was very time-consuming on the one hand and offered little scope for design on the other. In order to reduce the effort and to have more influence on the design, a common basis for all application sections was to be created in the form of a form generator. They were looking for a way to create their own forms independently and easily, as well as an error-free connection to complex data structures, such as when compiling the prices in the form.

Solution

The Solution

When BDAE contacted us, we first took a lot of time to really understand the complexity. We went through the concept and requirements in detail with the customer in a few (of course free of charge) consultation appointments and fine-tuned them together with the team. Together, we also evaluated whether Pimcore could be the right solution for the problem. We agreed to use Pimcore and defined an application route that we could test and learn from for further development as a first MVP. Through good planning and constant coordination with the customer, we were able in the end to implement the first version of the generator with many, additional functions instead of the planned, basic MVP. We thus far exceeded the scope of the defined first milestone.

Results

Using the Pimcore PIM and CMS functionalities, we linked dynamic forms with a complex data construct for BDAE and packed them into a form generator tailored to the customer. As part of an affiliate system, the generated forms can be integrated not only on BDAE's own website, but also on various broker websites via iFrames. Also, there is a strong focus on the security of personal and health-related ("special personal data") data. These data could be completely encrypted and protected thanks to a solution we developed together with the client.
