Challenge

Pimcore for the management and addition of product data and other structured data.

For Saint-Gobain Weber, the challenge was to replace a legacy system landscape that could no longer meet the demands of modern data management. The core task involved decommissioning the old PIM system and migrating all data assets cleanly into a future-proof infrastructure. Beyond pure product information, the entire digital asset management (DAM) and complex non-product data (MDM) had to be centrally consolidated and structured. Another critical bottleneck was the high manual effort in publishing: the creation of price lists and product packaging needed to be fully automated directly from the new data foundation using EasyCatalog.

Solution

Pimcore supports with perfect connection points and extensive standard

The core of the solution is the Pimcore platform, which acts as the central single source of truth for all product, asset, and non-product data. Pimcore automatically ingests data from various sources, including the ERP and other third-party systems, supported by email notifications for updates. The entire editing process is guided by tailored workflows, with status updates tracked transparently via automated email reporting. For the existing website, twocream implemented an efficient data export routine alongside various automated publishing objects. Technical data sheets are generated just-in-time using PDFlib, eliminating manual intervention. For price lists and packaging, EasyCatalog was integrated via an ODBC interface to fully automate the creation of Adobe InDesign documents and print-ready PDFs.
