Challenge

Around 160 employees work at the headquarters in Heiligenhaus near Düsseldorf and the subsidiaries in Spain and China to ensure that the international customer base is supplied with innovative and reliable closure solutions. At STUV, customers receive everything from a single source: from individual rotary bolts to complete control technology for high-security systems. The old STUV website urgently needed a complete relaunch. The relaunch also included the subsequently integrated e-commerce area. It should be noted that only a subset of the STUV product portfolio is available in the shop, which is to be redesigned. However, the customer wanted all product data to have a common home.

STUV's products are aimed exclusively at B2B customers. In addition, STUV had existing customers who should be integrated into the new system in a customer-friendly manner. Accordingly, the takeover and activation of existing customers had to be designed and implemented.

The software architecture for this project was completely redesigned by the agency twocream. In the future, the system had to be able to process, merge and save data from a wide variety of sources in one system without any problems.

STUV chose the Pimcore PIM and DAM solution. The agency twocream from Wuppertal was the Pimcore partner for the implementation.

twocream executed the complete implementation of the project with technical conception, development and implementation. The twocream team created a data model in Pimcore according to the specific STUV requirements.

All products were assigned exact attributes in Pimcore by STUV. In addition, Pimcore manages all STUV products with product information such as images, PDFs, and brochures.

Results

Pimcore is STUV's new information base and reliably contains all information entrusted to it. The product attributes allow customers precise filtering in the shop.

With the Pimcore platform, STUV can perform data updates at any time and ensure that all product information is up to date.

The leading system remains the ERP system ABAS, but Pimcore as PIM/DAM system plays an important and extensive role in the system architecture.
