B2B commerce runs on different logic than B2C. Buyers are not consumers but procurement professionals acting on behalf of their company. They search by technical specification, compare against standardized classification systems, need datasheets and compliance certificates, and buy in quantities, not units.

The requirements on product data are correspondingly higher. A hundred or more attributes per product, often in standardized classification systems, with required entries for certificates, material composition, energy consumption, and compliance. On top of that come customer-specific assortments, individual price lists, and approval workflows on the buyer side.
