Distributors

Distributors are the switching points of many B2B supply chains. An electrical manufacturer does not sell directly to the electrical installer but to Sonepar, Rexel, or Würth, who in turn supply hundreds of trade businesses. A manufacturer who reaches distributors gains reach that direct sales cannot deliver efficiently.

The condition for that is standardized product data delivery. Distributors require data in the formats of their ERPs and e-commerce platforms, with defined classifications (often ETIM or eCl@ss), required attributes, and update frequencies. Manual preparation costs time and ships errors.
