Multichannel Commerce

Multichannel Commerce is selling through multiple independent sales channels in parallel, often with separate inventory, individual pricing, and channel-specific product information. Unlike omnichannel, the channels are not necessarily integrated. Pimcore PIM provides the unified data foundation that lets multichannel sellers operate without duplicate maintenance, with channel-specific variants as a structural part of the data model.

Multichannel is the reality of almost every growing company. Your own webshop, several marketplaces, B2B portal, brick-and-mortar through partners. Every channel has its own strengths, its own audiences, and its own requirements. Running multichannel does not mean treating every channel the same; it means giving each its best form.

The difference from omnichannel is subtle. Multichannel runs channels side by side, with potentially separate inventory and prices. Omnichannel integrates the channels so a customer can move seamlessly between them (ordering online and picking up in-store, for example). Multichannel is the operational reality, omnichannel the strategic ambition.
