Voice Search

Voice Search is search by voice input instead of text input, through smartphones, smart speakers, or integrated voice assistants. Voice queries are longer, more natural, and more conversational than typed queries. Product data has to be structured accordingly to be chosen for voice answers. Pimcore PIM supports voice search optimization through structured data and semantic enrichment.

Voice search changes the logic of search and discovery. A typed query is short and keyword-based (cordless drill 18V), a voice query is longer and more natural (which drill is good for a DIYer with battery life over three hours?). Voice answers often deliver only one result, not a list.

For product data, that means higher requirements for structure and semantic depth. Products have to be enriched with properties, use cases, and contextual descriptions, not just technical specs. Schema.org markup, FAQ structures, and long-tail keywords become more important than classic title optimization.
