Kommunale Wohnungsgesellschaft Obereichsfeld mbH
Smart apartment search and digital tenant services combined in one integrated platform: with Pimcore, intelligent system interfaces, and a progressive web app (PWA), tenants can manage all apartment-related processes digitally — from finding the right home to accessing consumption data and cost statements.
Kommunale Wohnungsgesellschaft Obereichsfeld mbH (Kowo) was founded in the 1990s. It offers over 2,000 apartments, located in the founding communities and their neighboring towns.
Before the website relaunch, processes at Kowo were largely driven by traditional administrative workflows. Tenant inquiries were handled by phone or in person, leading to time-consuming coordination and a high level of bureaucracy. The existing website was technically outdated and provided limited digital services. As a result, workflows were inefficient, manual effort was high, and the service experience for tenants was limited.
The relaunch established a centralized digital service architecture based on Pimcore. The platform, implemented as a progressive web app (PWA), enables tenants to manage their requests online while significantly reducing administrative workload through structured digital information services. The intelligent apartment finder allows prospective tenants to filter listings by price, location, and size to receive tailored results, supported by an enhanced favorites function.A key technical component is the integration of the IVM system, which automatically transfers all apartment data into Pimcore, creating a centralized data foundation. Once an apartment is rented, it is directly linked to the respective tenant, who can access all relevant information and submit service requests via the tenant app.To further streamline communication, a mailing function within Pimcore enables standardized and personalized communication based on centrally stored tenant data.
The integrated platform ensures seamless data exchange between tenant and apartment information while establishing Pimcore as the central system for structured data management. Manual effort in apartment management and marketing has been significantly reduced, data transparency within the tenant app has increased, and digital communication has largely replaced paper-based correspondence — creating a more efficient and modern tenant service experience.Overall, the platform establishes a scalable and future-ready foundation for efficient property and tenant data management. At the same time, it enables more transparent processes and supports a modern, fully digital tenant service experience.
