In the chemical industry, product data sheets, quality statements and certificates are essential for regulatory compliance and reliable customer communication. However, these documents were stored in decentralized locations, created manually and difficult to track. Information from multiple sources had to be consolidated and validated individually, resulting in inconsistent data, long processing times and limited transparency regarding document versions and recipients. The lack of automation increased compliance risks and made it difficult to scale processes efficiently across business units.
The implemented platform centralizes regulated product data within a structured PIM architecture, harmonizing heterogeneous BU data models into a governed single source of truth. Automated integrations with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ensure synchronized master data and compliance-relevant information across all business units. Product data sheets, certificates and quality statements are generated dynamically, version-controlled and distributed automatically — including full logging of every transmission to meet strict audit and regulatory requirements. A secure self-service application provides controlled access to up-to-date documents, significantly reducing manual effort while enabling scalable, cross-BU product data governance.
This project demonstrates how regulated product data in the chemical industry, managed across multiple business units, can be transformed into a governed and scalable digital platform. It highlights how modern PIM architectures enable regulatory compliance, ensure traceability and drive operational efficiency — laying the foundation for sustainable growth in complex chemical organizations.
