Norstedts
Norstedts is Sweden's oldest publishing house. The publishing house has published 29 Nobel Prize winners and publishers of Orhan Pamuk, Mario Vargas Llosa, Stieg Larsson, J.R.R. Tolkien, Elena Ferrante, David Lagercrantz, Jonas Gardell, Agneta Pleijel, PO Enquist and Anna Jansson.
Business Needs
The website was their main channel for all digital communications. This is especially important when a writer is on television or on the radio as search traffic to the website increases significantly. The most common way people discover a new book is a recommendation from the media or a friend – in which case googling the book is the next step.
Norstedts wanted to make sure that their writers and books were known and well-exposed, so that customers could learn more about the books and authors prompting them to make a purchase from one of their suppliers. They needed a website that was easy to manage as book and author information constantly needs to be updated. Also, the website needed to be able to enhance their social and digital media strategy and presence. It needed to encompass high-quality text and images.
With such implementations, they expect that the publisher’s stories are able to engage and attract its target audience prompting them to stay longer, read more and discover more. Ultimately, they wanted their new site to enhance their visitor’s dedication to reading.
Pimcore Solution
Through a consultation from Divante, an eCommerce house based in Poland, Norstedts was advised to use Pimcore to build their ideal website. After conducting a workshop, which allowed for thorough examination of the client’s needs, Divante started to implement the frontend and work on integrations, including integration with the client’s systems that store information on products and authors. It was fully integrated with their ERP system including images, text, and metadata.
The site they created on Pimcore’s CMS was mobile first and designed for Google AMP that enables users to view book information on their mobile phone. They also introduced a new social media strategy where targeted advertisements could be displayed to a certain target audience.
