Case Study: Digital Travel Portal Enables Brand Consistency for Tourism Region
With 11 regions, Styria Tourism is one of the largest tourism regions in Austria. The company has relied on Pimcore for the implementation of its digital strategy since 2010, making it one of the first and longest customers of Pimcore.
In 2021, Styria Tourism purchased an Enterprise Subscription in order to use the Experience Portals and the Datahub in the best possible way. The company's goal was to have all data on one platform and to forward it via API to relevant third-party systems. Furthermore, Styria Tourism pursues a "user first" approach, which it was able to implement with the Experience Portals.

Customer Key Facts
Assets for all target groups
In the past, managing and sharing images were rather impractical. The solution was 100% customized, each of the users could access more than 11,000 images as soon as they had a login. Steiermark Tourismus used Pimcore's CMS and DAM to manage over 600,000 assets with predefined permissions. For this, 20 roles were created for more than 300 users, so that the sharing of assets could quickly become confusing.
Enterprise Edition for Styria Tourism
With the use of the Enterprise Edition and the introduction of the Asset Experience Portals at Styria Tourism, the sharing and making available of assets could be easily designed and implemented. The company now has several portals that provide images for customers, partners, and visitors. At the same time, the "user first" approach is implemented here, as all relevant target groups can easily access the assets that are relevant to them.
Asset Experience Portal for 1300 target groups
With Pimcore's Asset Experience Portal, Styria Tourism now has the possibility to provide data for more than 1300 internal and external target groups. Assets can now be configured within the portals and, together with metadata, can also be uploaded directly into the portals. In addition, Styria Tourism has created separate asset experience portals for the different target groups in order to be able to respond to the different requirements.
