With no existing PIM/MDM/DAM, data was spread across the organisation and managed manually, resulting in room for error and a lengthy time-to-market. A custom ERP system is in place, which can contain a lot of data, but is neither fit to manage all product data in an optimal and user-friendly way, nor share it with data consumers like the webshop. The first priority of Tom&Co was to ensure that the data that drives their business would be centralised and easy to manage and share.

We implemented Pimcore as PIM/MDM/DAM, to consolidate all product related data. Given that Pimcore is the creation point for products at Tom&Co, efficient data input is crucial and this is made possible via the out-of-the box file import instead of manual entry. We integrated Pimcore with both the ERP system and the webshop to allow for seamless updates of data. Considering the extensive range of products, we provided further optimisations like automated asset and product linking to increase efficiency, allowing the team to spend their time on other tasks.
