Pimcore becomes Exemplary Vendor at Ventana Research PIM Value Index

On May 28, Ventana Research published their latest PIM Value Index where they compared the leading PIM products worldwide. Pimcore was named Value Index Leader together with Akeneo, Salsify, Magnitude, Riversand, and Informatica. Pimcore was evaluated to be one of the top 3 PIM vendors and was therefore categorized as an Exemplary Vendor.

What is Ventana Research?

For almost 20 years, Ventana Research has conducted market research in a spectrum of related areas including business planning, data preparation, machine learning, data and analytics in the cloud, natural language processing, and big data analytics and integration. What does the PIM Value Index describe?

The Value Index evaluates the software in seven key categories that are weighted to reflect buyers’ needs based on Ventana’s expertise and research.

The following 16 products are included: Akeneo, Bluestone, Contentserv, IBM, Informatica, Innovit, inRiver, Magnitude, Oracle, Perfion, Pimcore, Riversand, Salsify, Stibo, Viamedici, and Winshuttle.

Five of those categories are product-experience related: 

• Usability
• Manageability
• Reliability
• Capability
• Adaptability

And two categories are customer-experience related:

• Vendor Validation
• Total Cost of Ownership and Return on Investment (TCO/ROI)

All in all, 16 vendors were analyzed and Pimcore was evaluated to be one of the top 3 PIM vendors and was therefore categorized as an Exemplary Vendor. Additionally, Ventana evaluated Pimcore to be Value Index Leader in four categories:

• Usability

Ventana Research recognized Pimcore’s strength in a large global community of open-source contributors that have contributed significantly to the innovation and improvement of the platform.
