Our Second Magic Quadrant Recognition - We Believe It's a Validation of the Data Spine Strategy.
We are proud to announce that Pimcore has been recognized in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Master Data Management Solutions.
This is a defining moment for our company, our partners, and our community.
A Gartner Magic Quadrant is a culmination of research in a specific market, giving you a wide-angle view of the relative positions of the market’s competitors. By applying a graphical treatment and a uniform set of evaluation criteria, a Magic Quadrant helps you quickly ascertain how well technology providers are executing their stated visions and how well they are performing against Gartner’s market view.
Pimcore is recognized in this report.
And this is not our first time.

Two Magic Quadrants. One Platform.
With the inclusion in the Magic Quadrant for Master Data Management Solutions, Pimcore is now recognized in two Magic Quadrants Reports— MDM and Digital Experience Platforms (DXP).
Very few vendors globally hold this distinction. And there is a reason for that.
Pimcore does both. Natively. In one platform.
This is not because we bolted two products together or acquired a company to fill a gap. It is because Pimcore was architecturally designed from the beginning to manage both structured and unstructured data in a single, unified platform — with a common data model, a common governance layer, a common API surface, and a common user interface.
We believe being recognized in both Magic Quadrant reports is the analyst validation of this architectural strategy. It confirms that Pimcore is not a PIM vendor that added a few MDM features, or a CMS that rebranded itself as a DXP. It is a genuine, evaluated, and recognized platform for both master data management and digital experience management.
Two Magic Quadrants. One platform. One Data Spine.
What This Means for the Data Spine Strategy
The inclusion in the MDM Magic Quadrant does more than validate Pimcore as an MDM vendor. It validates the strategic thesis that underpins everything we are building.
The Pimcore Data Spine is the concept that Pimcore sits at the center of enterprise data, experience, and AI infrastructure — connecting systems of record, core data domains, channels and experiences, and AI agents into a single governed architecture.
The Data Spine rests on two pillars:
Structured data governance — master data management across domains like products, customers, suppliers, locations, and materials. The MDM Magic Quadrant validates this pillar.
Unstructured experience management — content, pages, templates, digital assets, and digital experiences. The DXP Magic Quadrant validates this pillar.
One spine. Two quadrants. One truth.
What This Means for the Agent SDK
The timing of this recognition is not coincidental.
At the Pimcore Inspire Conference on April 14, 2026, we are releasing the beta of the PimcoreSDK — a framework deeply embedded in the core of the platform that makes AI agents first-party participants in the system.
The Gartner MDM report itself highlights the growing importance of AI in master data management — both AI for MDM (using AI to automate stewardship, entity resolution, and data quality) and MDM for AI (using governed master data to ground AI systems and prevent hallucinations). The report notes that MCP (Model Context Protocol) server support is becoming a common feature across the MDM landscape, and that agentic AI capabilities are increasingly expected by the market.
The Pimcore SDK is our answer to both dimensions.
AI agents operating on the Data Spine consume trusted, governed master data — exactly what Gartner describes as the critical safety layer for enterprise AI. And the Agent SDK's MCP servers, context providers, guardrails, and composable agent architecture provide the infrastructure for AI-driven stewardship, enrichment, classification, and quality management — exactly what Gartner describes as the future of MDM automation.
Being recognized in the Magic Quadrant while simultaneously launching the Agent SDK sends a clear signal: Pimcore is not just keeping pace with the market's evolution toward AI-enabled master data management. We are building the architecture for it.
Honest About Where We Are
We are proud of this recognition. We are also honest about where we stand.
Pimcore enters the Magic Quadrant as a Niche Player. We are not in the Leaders quadrant — yet. And we are transparent about the areas where Gartner identified room for growth.
The evaluation noted that Pimcore's user interface has historically been complex. This is a fair observation — and it is precisely why we invested more than two years in building Pimcore Studio, which reached General Availability with Platform Version 2026.1. Studio replaces the legacy Admin UI with a modern, responsive, and intuitive interface built on React, TypeScript, and Ant Design. The complexity concern is being addressed — structurally, not cosmetically.
The evaluation also pointed to areas in native governance tooling where Pimcore can deepen its capabilities. We take this feedback seriously. The Agent SDK, with its guardrail engine and governed automation capabilities, is part of how we will address this — extending governance not just for human users, but for AI agents operating at scale.
We are recognized as a Niche Player. Niche Players focus successfully on a small segment, or are unfocused and do not out-innovate or outperform others.
The Competitive Landscape
The 2026 Magic Quadrant for Master Data Management Solutions evaluates 18 vendors.
Gartner noted:
"Leaders demonstrate strength in depth across the full range of MDM functions, including the ability to support all four implementation styles (registry, consolidation, centralized and coexistence) within a single, converged platform. They exhibit a clear understanding of dynamic market trends, particularly the shift toward converged data management platforms where MDM is tightly integrated with data quality, data integration and governance capabilities."
What This Means for Our Partners and Customers
For existing customers: this recognition confirms that your choice of platform is recognized by the world's most respected technology analyst firm. Your investment in Pimcore is backed not only by our technology and roadmap, but by independent, rigorous evaluation.
For prospective customers: Pimcore is now a recognized, evaluated vendor in two of the most important enterprise software categories — MDM and DXP. If you are evaluating your data and experience management foundation, Pimcore belongs on your shortlist.
For partners: the dual Magic Quadrant recognition opens doors. It provides the analyst credibility that enterprise buyers require when evaluating platforms. It positions Pimcore — and by extension, our partner ecosystem — in conversations that were previously reserved for vendors many times our size.
For the Pimcore community: this is your recognition too. The 179 active MDM customers who participated in the evaluation, the partners who deliver projects, the developers who build on the platform — this recognition reflects the collective strength of the ecosystem.
Looking Ahead
For us, being included in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Master Data Management Solutions is a milestone. It is not the destination.
Our roadmap is clear:
The Data Spineprovides the governed, unified data foundation — now validated by analyst recognition in both structured (MDM) and unstructured (DXP) data management.
The Agent SDK provides the intelligence layer — positioning agents as first-party participants in the platform, operating on trusted data, through governed tools, within defined guardrails.
Platform Version 2026.1 provides the modern, extensible architecture — Studio, the Studio SDK, and a clean codebase ready for the next decade.
Together, these pillars form the foundation for Agentic PXM — the operating model where humans define intent, agents execute and optimize, and the platform governs everything.
Two Magic Quadrant recognition today. A clear architecture for tomorrow. And the ambition to keep building.
