Intersport is the world’s largest chain of stores with sports equipment. In Slovenia, they are present in more than 30 outlets, offering a wide range of quality sports equipment of recognized brands. Besides Slovenia, Intersport is now present in over 40 countries and over 5,500 outlets.
The goal was to successfully set up an online shop for the Croatian and Serbian markets – the priority was given to the two markets where Intersport was at the time being only present in the form of physical stores, so the customers were eagerly expecting the online shop. With the implementation of Pimcore for the backend product system, Intersport was enabled to edit the products of the current and next season fast and easy.
Pimcore was connected with Magento 2. Pimcore is used as the main backend for managing the product catalog and asset data (stocks, prices, categorization, attributes, descriptions, images,...). Magento 2 is used for the frontend. The multi-tenant solution is spanning across multiple countries.
The site is user-friendly and useful, visually appealing and functional. A positive business outcome was a 581% increase in page views.
