Creation of Assembly, Installation and Maintenance Manuals for HI-Tech Industrial Machines for Washing Large Glazed Surfaces
Triulzi Glass Process experiences is a company producing hi-tech industrial machines for the washing of large glazed surfaces, which has been operating in Italy since 1950. Known all over the world, Triulzi creates its own machines exclusively in Italy using the support of companies specialized in metal carpentry and sends them to international customers complete with assembly manuals, installation and maintenance. For about 20 years,
Triulzi has developed a division dedicated exclusively to the creation of machines for the washing of solar panels.
Business Needs
After a complete reorganization, that was necessary for the face of the internal generational transition to the management of Triulzi, the company needed to optimize the creation of all the documentation related to every single machine produced. Technical drawings, technical data (such as size, weight, voltage), picture of the complete machine, assembly instructions were been archiving in text files stored on the PCs of the design department staff with an internal naming convention. The sale of machines all over the world also made it necessary to translate all the texts (descriptive and assembly steps) from the Italian to the English.
The need to have everything in a centralized repository where all the staff of Triulzi and the people in charge of the translations could access to work in collaboration on the information of the machines facilitated the choice of GMDE proposal.
Pimcore Solution
A PIM solution has been implemented. A complete data-model of the machine information with a section entirely dedicated to the phases of assembly of each section of the machine was the starting point to start collecting data. As for the photos of the assembly phases, an application available for smartphones has allowed the assembly technicians to send the photos with their captions and description of the assembly steps, directly to pimcore. Once collected the useful material for the assembly manual, the web2print technology will allow to quickly export documents directly from the PIM.
A next step will be to integrate Pimcore with Adobe InDesign for the creation of the general catalogue and brochures that need a more important graphic intervention than the assembly manual. Future developments will be the updating of the website and the implementation of an online tracking function.
Business Results
The project is at the initial stage of collecting and reorganizing all the material. Once approved the standard graphics of the manuals, available in the web2print, will be estimated the real-time saved to produce the material in line with the standard Triulzi.
