
Case Study: Charity Sets up Its Own Donation Portal with Pimcore Platform
The Caritas association of the archdiocese München-Freising in Upper Bavaria, Germany consists of more than 350 facilities such as elderly homes, nursing services, day-care centers, support and homes for handicapped citizens, support for people with immigrant background and many more. The association has 10.000 employees.
Using the client's existing Pimcore setup, DGTLS took over the conceptual design, planning and set-up of a custom website for the Caritas donation portal.

Portal that provides an overview of fundraising projects that makes it easy to donate
Due to the great importance of donations for Caritas, a special portal should be created that provides an overview of all Caritas fundraising projects and opportunities and, thanks to the integration of the Altruja fundraising software and the implementation of a new fundraising module, enables simple and direct donations. Another requirement of the project was the requested content migration of approx. 60 pages including the corresponding metadata.

DGTLS took over the organizational, graphic and technical implementation of the Caritas project, from conception to project management.The graphics and IT departments designed and programmed (front- and backend) a new, interactive donation module, a separate, clearly arranged mega-menu as well as a separate teaser to introduce the different donation projects from the Caritas institution websites. These pages are managed in the same Pimcore instance and thus allow easy cross-linking. Furthermore, a link to the Altruja donation software was made via an extended iframe integration with custom styles in order to integrate seamlessly into the website in terms of visual appearance and content, thus giving users a feeling of trust and security for their donation.

After the implementation of the project, the Caritas donation portal can now be found under the domain spenden.caritas-nah-am-naechsten.de with a clear content and visual focus on the topic of "donations". Tidy, emotional and with clear CTAs, the new website pays tribute to the goal of generating donations, which is of such great importance to our client. With just one click, the user can go directly from the homepage or a subpage to the donation option in various ways. Last but not least, a user-friendly and clear design makes it easier for elderly users to navigate and browse through the new Caritas donation portal.
