Case Study: Relaunch of the Heckler & Koch corporate website
For more than 70 years, Heckler & Koch has stood for innovation, reliability, and perfect craftsmanship. As the world's leading manufacturer of small arms, the company is a responsible partner for security forces, police, and emergency forces of NATO and its associated states.
A central, shared goal for the relaunch was to consistently reflect these values and allow them to be experienced digitally.

Merging editorial content and generic productdata into a digital experience
In addition to the central aim of developing an intuitive, visually outstanding and involving website using a mobile-first approach, the focus was also on the reference and enrichment of relevant product data. All content (editorial and generic) should be editable with little effort and merge into a digital experience when viewed - especially on the product detail pages.
Solution
Data-driven and editorially enriched to create a single source of truth
By using Pimcore as a CMS, PIM, and DAM, we developed a comprehensive data model populated with consolidated raw data, migrated from PDF documents. This model resolved complexities related to product compatibility and dependencies.
Now, all Heckler & Koch departments source their PDF data sheets from this central hub. The consolidated data is also accessible via an interface for tasks like website ordering. This system seamlessly combines product data with editorial content and images, enhancing the visual and informational impact of product detail pages, creating engaging and tangible impressions of the products.
"In the context of the collaborative partnership between Heckler & Koch and team neusta, we successfully addressed critical requirements both in content and technology, navigating the complexities of a socially sensitive industry. This project not only achieved a comprehensive website relaunch but also established a scalable digital platform for application-based tasks and future challenges."
