Case Study: Interprint gets new SOTA PIM & DAM for their SAP & migrates 20 TB Data to AWS Cloud
INTERPRINT is one of the leading international decor printers. Creativity, passion and high-quality standards are what sets them apart. They always strive for the best result for their customers.
The enterprise company needed to replace a long-used and outdated IT-system with no proper DAM to face business challenges in growing international markets. The Idea was to rebuild a cloud based system for internal and external use including new features such as a coworker portal and automated workflows.

Rebuilding a completely new system landscape to replace legacy software
An outdated picture database with over 20TB of TIFFS was the basis for internal key account managers and customers as well as for external website visitors. A SharePoint middleware and frontend was using SAP master data by exporting and importing data via csv. This system was used by employees and customers all over the world, which led to performance gaps while processing incoming data overnight on a nonscalable server. Furthermore, a customer portal to show individual content and to give access to non-public files/PDFs was needed. All product and website data was provided bilingual(eng/ger) only, which was not sufficient for a worldwide operating enterprise company. Some of the manual work steps while using the legacy software needed to be improved to reduce errors. The online team had no easy way to provide & change content because there was no CMS. Finally, the most important part of the website, the decor explorer, had to be refactored to improve performance and a better UX.
Using Pimcore as the multi-tool solution to refactor/modernize & to push Interprint to new boundaries
We re-implemented all these fragmented systems and custom software parts in one DAM while automating master data synchronization by using Pimcore and SAP rest APIs. Our solution is hosted on a scalable AWS cloud environment to optimize processing large uploads of tiff data while providing a highly performant user interface and full-text search engine. Based on business analysis with the customer, multiple manual processes that were time-consuming for the employees and error-prone were guided and partially automated by workflows. In addition to the new DAM, we designed and implemented a brand-new frontend with a new sophisticated shop system, shown as the Decor Explorer and the integration of 3D models. B2C content is now multilingual and more manageable through a sophisticated rights and role system.
One Company - One System - One Marketing
Interprint acquired a new cloud-hosted DAM single-source solution with a new CMS and PIM system, working with over 16,000 possible product variations and supporting 11 different languages. All data and content are now self-manageable and consolidated. Through an intuitive workflow framework, all crucial work steps, such as decor data enrichment and product synchronization, are guided, resulting in fewer duplicates, a better time to market (TTM), and a consistently up-to-date synchronized system. Interprint also obtained a Co-worker Portal for information access and internal use with a modern facelift for the look and feel of the B2C areas, especially the new decor explorer. Thanks to the possibilities of one truth and single source publishing, Interprint can speak with one enterprise company voice despite being based in Arnsberg, Germany. This connection encompasses all departments, including Editors, Production, HR, Marketing, and the worldwide IT Sales Force.
