Polbruk is the largest manufacturer of concrete materials for surface arrangement on the Polish market. The company is part of the concern CRH - the leading building materials business in the world.

The implemented PIM system, next to the ERP system, has become the main place for collecting product information and digital resources. It facilitates the work of the Marketing, Design, and R&D Departments with a possible extension to other departments and Business Partners. On the basis of PIM, a digital product catalog and a new website were built, which provides the most up-to-date information and an effective tool for product promotion.

Managing the growing volume of product materials

The main place for storing product information in the organization was the ERP system. It collects technical and sales data in a structured way, which is supplemented at each stage of the product life cycle. As the number of products and digital materials such as images, videos, technical documentation, instructions, etc. used for their promotion and sale grew, so did the need to create a tool for their effective management. The main goal of the marketing department was to reduce the time of publishing up-to-date product and promotional data and materials. Polbruk was looking for a tool that would give access to always-updated materials within the company and would be a source of these materials for the newly-created website.
Solution

Pimcore as a key element in the digital transformation process

As a major part of the process, we implemented the Pimcore system, which includes PIM, DAM, MDM, CMS, CDM and Marketing Automation modules. A key component of the new system for Polbruk is PIM, which covers all product models [including product marketing representation and exact product variants] across attributes, ERP data and end carriers. All SKUs from the customer's ERP system were transferred to the PIM system. The product data was augmented with additional material such as images, videos, technical documents, which were transferred from many different data sources. Thus, Pimcore became the main repository of product materials necessary for the marketing department to present to customers. Equally important part of the project was implementation of a new website corresponding to corporate identity and branding guidelines. The website is based on Pimcore CMS system, which was appreciated by Polbruk employees as intuitive and having wide possibilities of content presentation.

As a result of implementing and operating the Pimcore system, the main effect is providing the company with a comprehensive tool that delivers the most up-to-date information about offered products and services, media and technical documentation. The implemented system shortens the time and costs of work related to the creation, publication and maintenance of product data. Development of an online product catalog has a positive impact on the Polbruk brand and marketing communication. The implemented system has gained interest and positive opinion among the company's employees. Brand promotion activities are also supported by the high potential of the new system. The system is continuously developed e.g. with marketing automation and web-to-print functionalities.
