Localization / Translation Management

Localization (translation management) is more than just translating. It adapts content linguistically, culturally, and regulatorily for target markets: language versions, units, currencies, local regulations, cultural connotations. Pimcore PIM and CMS support multilingual content natively, with translation workflows, TMS integration, and language-variant attributes at every data level.

Real localization goes well beyond word translation. A product description in the US requires different units (inch, lb) and different cultural anchors than in Germany. A French marketplace requires different regulatory markers than a British one. Images that work in Asia can land badly in Scandinavia.

Operationally, localization is a workflow problem. Source texts have to be identified, translation providers coordinated, approvals collected per language, and changes to the original propagated into every target language. Without a structured process, language versions drift apart.

Pimcore PIM and CMS support multilingual content natively at the attribute level. Every attribute can have language-variant values, translation workflows govern the lifecycle, TMS tools like memoQ, Trados, or XTM connect through built-in connectors. Changes to the original automatically mark affected translations as needing update, without anyone tracking by hand.
