Challenge

dental bauer has sites in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands and since 2017 also in Switzerland with the buyout of the swiss company Demadent. The goal was to have their data managed by one system for all sites as the company was unhappy about the complexity of their former site.

Nevertheless, each company still needed its own website as well as the ability to set and edit its own content. In addition, it was important to find a solution that could permit different users limited access to the backend.

Apart from that, dental bauer wanted a website with modular structure instead of prefabricated templates to be more flexible when editing content. A job portal with the possibility to upload applications as well as a search with included filter modules for seminars and properties was also required.

The project’s main objective was to develop a combination of the website and a shop system. The user should not notice a switch between the two systems.

Results

The new website is a combination of the advantages of Pimcore as CMS and Shopware as shop system. The user can now seamlessly switch between the two systems without even noticing any transformation in the frontend. Additionally, all dental bauer sites are now united in one backend, saving significant time when editing their content that is now managed in bricks and objects.

With a clean and modern design which is responsive and thus available on every device, the new website gives a modern impression for the customers and ensures better usability. As a consequence, the websites’ conversions have increased since the relaunch.
