Employees Challenge
The Challenge
Due to the holistic approach that Kiesel pursues, the system requirements are a combination of CMS, PIM and shop software.
The customer portal is intended to offer both end customers and trading partners access to individual functions. It should offer a web shop functionality that communicates with the ERP system in real time in order to be able to process spare parts orders quickly. In addition, the system is intended to be used for the central management of product and machine data, which can also be played out via various websites.
Solution
The Solution
The ambitious project was tackled on the basis of Pimcore and, as a first step, the corporate group's website was relaunched. It lays the foundation for the entire appearance. In addition to the responsive presentation of the entire website, there was a focus on networking the individual pieces of information. In the case of new machines, the user can see whether suitable used machines are also available and he can easily identify the right accessories using the attachment finder.
The website was supplemented by the customer portal “My Kiesel” and the web shop for spare and wear parts for commercial end customers. As a customer, you have access to an extensive range and, thanks to the connection to the ERP system, you can check and order availability in real time, regardless of time and place.
Results
A good start
The concept of relying on an integrated system instead of introducing many isolated solutions has proven itself for Kiesel. It facilitates data maintenance and offers the necessary flexibility when creating innovative web applications. After the first phase of the customer portal has been launched, the company is already planning to develop further digital services based on Pimcore.
In the meantime, the company has implemented other websites, such as a kiosk application, within Pimcore. Due to the multiple use of the data, maintenance is particularly efficient.
