3.0 Release Candidate (Build 3327)

Today we're really happy to present you the first release candidate of pimcore 3.0 (Build 3327). The last few weeks we were really working hard on the next major release of pimcore, so this is also a big step forward for us. A big thank you goes to all early adopters who have already tested their applications with the nightly builds and helped us to improve the backward compatibility.

The biggest change in 3.0 is definitly the switch to real PHP namespaces for all pimcore related classes, for more information please have a look at our previous post about that.

We've put the documentation for 3.0 into a dedicated wiki space since nearly all the code examples have changed from 2.x to 3.0. You can find the new documentation here. We're still looking for people helping us to improve the documentation, editing the docs is possible for all registered users, so you can start right away. ;-) You can also join the discussion in our forums.

Timeline
The current plan is to release pimcore 3.0 in about 4 weeks.

Support for version 2.x
As 3.x should be fully backward compatible, there is no longer official support for version 2.x after we have released version 3.

So this is now the right time to test your pimcore installations with the latest build in your test/dev environments ;-)
As always we're looking forward to your feedback.
