Pimcore X - Prepare and schedule update
What does this mean for you?
- Pimcore 6 Community Edition will not receive any further bug fixes or security-related patches after June 23, 2021. The software has reached the end of its lifecycle. The final release is Pimcore 6.9.6.
- Pimcore will not accept any further bug reports or code contributions for Pimcore 6 Community Edition after this date.
- Sooner or later, you may be exposing your organization to a security risk if you continue to use Pimcore 6 Community Edition.
Option (1) Update to Pimcore X
Pimcore X was released on May 11, 2021, and the implementation of the update is offered by all certified solution partners and described in detail in our documentation. Our partners will review the update effort for you in advance to determine the most efficient update path.
If you are currently using the PHP templating engine or REST web services that are no longer supported by Pimcore X, you can extend the lifecycle of these two features and minimize your update effort by using the provided LTS bundles. This offer is part of the Pimcore Enterprise Subscription with the Long-Term Support option.
Option (2) Pimcore 6 LTS Program
For enterprises that cannot upgrade to Pimcore X and want to continue running Pimcore 6 Community Edition securely, a program has been created to provide long-term support for this version. To continue receiving security fixes and critical releases, you need to purchase the Pimcore Enterprise Subscription with the Long-Term Support option. You can find more information here.
