Pimcore's CMS goes to Sweden....
With Pimcore being utilized by 80,000 users all over the world, we have many well-known customers who we are very proud of. However, one of the most notable is IKEA, an internationally known home furnishing retailer founded in 1943 in Sweden. Many years later, they are still recognized for their Scandinavian style.
A few years ago, IKEA decided they wanted to equip their stores with free WiFi for all shoppers. Not only did they want their shoppers to be able to stay connected while shopping, they also wanted to be able to display digital advertisements through their in-store WiFi. With advertisements being displayed to users who are already in the store, they are more likely to utilize the special offer or promotion and buy a new item.
IKEA needed the ability for each store to be able to set and maintain their own content. They also needed their marketing team to be able to access the content in order to re-write and edit as needed. What IKEA needed was a CMS with a single repository where they could store and manage all marketing content throughout its lifecycle. They needed something that was intuitive and easy to use for non-technical marketing team members.
Through Basilicom, a Pimcore solution partner based in Berlin, Germany, IKEA was advised to use Pimcore’s Content Management System (CMS). The solution allowed IKEA to manage all content for the customized landing pages of each IKEA store branch. All assets, content, and data related to the landing pages could be stored in a single repository and easily accessed by IKEA employees in order to repurpose content related to a validated sale or promotion.
Being recognized as the world’s largest (and famous) furniture retailer comes with a lot of market demands. In order to live up to their name, IKEA needs to constantly promote special offers, sales, and new products. Using Pimcore’s CMS, they were easily and efficiently able to create and execute advertisements, while at the same time improving their shopper’s experience.
