Why you should be using a Content Management System (CMS)
There are so many benefits of using a Content Management System (CMS), that it would be too much to list here. But here are a few that come to mind:
- You can update your website on your terms
Imagine if you needed to quickly add an event landing page or an image to one of your webpages. Instead of having to ask a developer to do this task, and having to wait for them to do it, you can easily do it yourself with a CMS. The CMS enables YOU as a non-technical user to very easily edit and update the content on your website.
- Don’t know anything about HTML? Not a coding expert? No problem……
You don’t need to know HTML or any other programming language to build a website using a CMS. All you really need to know is how to use Microsoft Word and you will be able to create use your CMS to create web pages, blog posts, news articles, landing pages, and press releases.
- Save time & money
Using an open-source CMS will save your company money on expensive external website agencies. And with limited need for a developer, they can use their time more efficiently to focus on higher value initiatives for the company.
- Collaborate better with your team
Most content management systems foster collaboration by allowing multiple users to work on a site, and many of them offer other useful features for SEO, email marketing, social media marketing and blogging. Your entire extended team can collaborate on these projects all together, leading to a much more cohesive group.
- Work from anywhere, anytime
As more and more companies adopt remote working programs, a good CMS system will allow these employees to edit and update their websites from anywhere, on any device, at any time. All you need is an internet connection. So, your dream of working remotely from the Caribbean is totally possible.
If you happen to have a website that’s rarely updated and or happen to be a coding and HTML expert, then you of course do not need a CMS system. But for those of you (like myself) who are not quite tech-savvy but need to frequently update and enhance a website, a Content Management System (CMS) is a very useful tool – and one that can be relied on daily for an improving website.
