NEW: Pimcore 4.4.0

In our latest Pimcore release there are several new features and improvements with over 90 bug fixes in total.  Here are some of the highlights from this release:

Capital Letters & Spaces:  As of today, capital letters and spaces can be incorporated into the file names of all assets, documents, and object keys.  You can find more details here.

New Image Adapter: We now have a new image adapter that utilizes the ImageMagick command-line tools and is a good alternative if Imagick PHP module is not available

utf8mb4 Support: Pimcore now has utf8mb4 support throughout the entire system.  This means that now you can use native emoji’s in your texts without images or any other workaround.

Object Relation Data-Types: It is now possible to display individual text in the editing interface instead of the path/ID.

It’s also good for you to know a few other things:

The memcached cache backend adapter is now outdated and no longer available.  If you’re using this adapter in your cache configuration, please migrate to Redis2 as soon as possible.  You will find more information here.

We terminated all support for PHP 5.5 which has officially reached its end of life. We recommend to use PHP 7 for now.

For those of you wanting to see a complete list of all changes, enhancements, and bug fixes you can find one here.
