Packt Awards: Most Promising Open Source Project 2010
Packt, UK publishers of technical books, has awarded Pimcore the winner of the 2010 Open Source Awards, a five-year-old event held online annually by Packt Publishing (news, site) to recognize and reward Open Source projects.
Web CMS newcomer Pimcore has prevailed
The project only started slightly over a year ago. Pimcore is PHP Web CMS that uses the Zend framework. In addition to managing content, the product also allows users to perform product information management and asset management from a single tool. The award, which was formerly known as the Open Source Content Management System (CMS) Award, is intended to promote, support, recognize and reward new open source projects.
"We are delighted to receive this award from Packt Publishing and the main sponsor, OpenCandy, as it demonstrates that the quality of our solution is recognized by both the jury members and the open source community," explains Dietmar Rietsch, founder of Pimcore.
