The SIAT SPA project saw the integration of Pimcore for data management (PIM) and corporate assets (DAM) and Magento 2 as an e-commerce platform for the sale of spare parts. Pimcore and Magento are connected thanks to the Sync4Mage synchronization engine developed by Esse Solutions, which allows the exchange of product information (products, images, categories, category association, attributes).

Organize spare parts data, technical drawings, product sheets and images

SIAT SPA has expressed the need to create a simple and immediate B2B e-commerce, which would allow its customers an effective consultation of the product catalog and a quick purchase of spare parts and machines. To avoid channel conflicts and acquire new customers, access to the site has not been bound to any registration (in the B2B context, registration is usually required to access the platform, to monitor and restrict access) and a single price list features defined prices for all users of the site, therefore there is currently no profiling for a specific user.

The SIAT SPA project saw the integration of Pimcore for data management (PIM) and corporate assets (DAM) and Magento 2 as an e-commerce platform for the sale of spare parts. Pimcore and Magento are connected thanks to the Sync4Mage synchronization engine developed by Esse Solutions, which allows the exchange of product information (products, images, categories, category association, attributes). Requests, managed by time or number of synchronized items, are processed through Execution Queue, never to miss a synchronization and manage the Magento load. The asset/product match occurs automatically with configurable recognition expressions that allow users to quickly associate assets to individual products.

Results

All the system connected in real time to reduce time to market

The entire system is connected in real time, via web services, with the SAP company management system for products, price lists, customers, customer addresses, availability, orders and order status progress. A document area will be provided, where each serial number / machine is associated with documents (PDF) divided by category (eg. User manuals, spare parts manuals). To optimize the search and indexing of products, Elastic Search has been configured: it also allows the search for alternative and replacement codes for obsolete products. Payments are possible by credit card or immediate transfer through the Stripe payment platform (and Paypal). All products, assets and textual content, managed through Pimcore, are in English (main language), Italian, French, German, Spanish and Russian. The consultation of the entire catalog is free while the purchase is subject to the user's registration.
