The website relaunch: research as the focal point
The new website is supposed to enhance CISPA’s profile as a research institution for future generations. Especially in regard with recruiting international top talents in the field of science, CISPA competes against renowned institutions such as the MIT or Stanford. Hence, the topic of research had to be presented with a fresh and particular emphasis.
Up-and-coming scientists should come upon a modern visual appearance that not only differentiates itself from competitive institutes, but also establishes a connection to the common environments of the young target group. The appropriate solution for this? A newly created design language!

The development of a visual language
The new design approach captures the proportions and the form language of the CISPA headquarter and transfers them into the web. In similarity to the headquarter, the new website possesses an open, up to date and modular design. A modern narrative style, an attractive and individual look and the option of flexible adaptations in the backend: the new website connects research at CISPA to a fresh appearance.
When it comes to creating the new website, the main challenge was to fulfill the requirement of barrier-free accessibility by the BITV 2.0 standards. Since the website contains a lot of content and lighting conditions can differ particularly on mobile devices, a dark mode was created. By doing so, contents can constantly be experienced in an optimal way – everywhere and every time. Furthermore, the new design clearly sets itself apart from the common blue and white PDF-look of innumerous tertiary institutions and research facilities.
