Case Study: More Conversions for Multi-Site Job Recruiting Platform
JOB AG is one of Germany's TOP 5 recruiting companies and specializes in temporary employment and recruitment of skilled professional workers. Its 5 000+ employees generate EUR 150+ million revenue per year. Multiple business units offer specialized consultancy for different target groups.
Business Needs
Each of the business units needed their own website with a distinctive design. To ensure brand consistency, the content and media assets had to be shared and managed by a central system. The main intention of the new websites was displaying job vacancies and providing the possibility for online job applications. Users needed to find suitable jobs easily and quickly.
The existing websites with an outdated design were not fully compatible with tablets and smartphones. Job search and job application were integrated as an iFrame, which negatively affected search engine visibility and user experience.
The website did not represent JOB AG in the way customers were expecting because the individual business units were not presented separately.
These factors led to low conversion rates for online job applications, especially on mobile devices.
Pimcore Solution
The new website provides a clear visual differentiation between the business units, although sharing a common layout, content and media assets. A powerful job search (powered by Apache Solr) with filter options makes it possible for users to find a job matching their profile quickly.
Pimcore's service-oriented software architecture made it easy to implement the APIs to receive job postings from an external software and deliver it to various online applications. New jobs are now automatically imported, and the job postings can be comfortably managed with the external software. Job applications are then automatically transmitted to the corresponding business unit.
The powerful CMS/UX features of Pimcore made it possible to set up a multi-site architecture with the possibility of content inheritance, including automatically setting canonical tags, if necessary, to avoid duplicate content issues for SEO. Adaptable job application form templates depending on job type/career level have also been set up.
Business Results
The optimized user experience led to an increase in conversion rates for online job applications. And better search engine visibility led to substantial increase in traffic from mobile devices.
