As an independent, family-led enterprise, KAISER has become one of the most important European manufacturers for electric installation products and systems starting more than 110 years ago already. KAISER does not only establish new standards, but also develops solutions that have influenced the entire industry and pointed towards future oriented approaches.
The former generation KAISER website was based upon a CMS system which also hosted most of the information. The current PIM system was no longer capable of handling the increasing requirements of the trade channels. The new generation was thus to be built upon a new concept which influenced most parts of the software architecture.
It was the goal to find a modern, flexible and safe yet easy-to-handle PIM system that can import the data from the former and current merchandise management system. It must be possible to complete the data from other systems and, if necessary, replenish it individually.
Further requirements included the operation of different languages and the uncomplicated connection with processing systems such as Web and Database Publishing.
KAISER chose the PIM and DAM solution with the Pimcore Partner being the twocream agency based in Wuppertal, Germany. twocream was hired to realize the entire project including the technical conception, the development and the implementation.
The agency thus designed a Pimcore data platform specifically adapted to the KAISER requirements. Among other tasks to be fulfilled, the project included the migration and harmonization of some 500 core attributes as well as the import of approximately 15.000 data packages.
Thanks to its modular design, Pimcore accurately fitted into the KAISER IT architecture. The Pimcore components perfectly met the expectations of KAISER. Apart from hosting the merchandise management system, Pimcore has become the new product data core of KAISER and reliably stores all of its information.
With the Pimcore PIM platform, KAISER is able to update its data and make sure, all of the product information is up-to-date at all times. This is why KAISER customers are provided with constant access to exactly the information they need for their business.
