Küberit® is the market and innovation leader in the production of aluminum profiles and profile systems for the installation of all types of floor coverings.

To automate the creation of price list catalogs, we implemented our self-developed solution PimPrint for Küberit. PimPrint closes the gap between Pimcore and InDesign and allows data to be extracted from Pimcore into InDesign without middleware.

Creating Price List Catalogs Automatically from Pimcore

There is hardly a manufacturer of floor coverings who does not rely on profile systems from Küberit. An important element to make the comprehensive product range visible and accessible for the trade are price list catalogs. In the future, these should be able to be created automatically from the already existing Pimcore PIM. A particular challenge here was to ensure that the color differentiation of the individual chapters, depending on the application of the profiles, was also retained during automatic extraction.

PimPrint-Plug-in with integrated Colorcoding

First, we extended the existing data model with relevant data fields and implemented PrintCockpit in Pimcore. In order to integrate the customer-specific catalog logic into the derivation of the data, we next created a print tree and adapted the PimPrint base bundle accordingly. On the InDesign side, we created separate print templates for the different catalog types. The color differentiation of the chapters works via a color picker in the Pimcore PIM, which then automatically adjusts the color of the paragraph format for the table and header via PimPrint.

Results

Easy Catalog Creation Directly from the Pimcore PIM

Thanks to our solution, Küberit is able to automatically extract price list catalogs from Pimcore PIM. The generation of the chapters takes place in a few minutes. Updates are also possible in a very short time via the layer control in InDesign. Further advantages are the flexible language selection with main and secondary languages and the simple color selection for the different chapters. All in all, Küberit now has a print center that can be used to create different catalogs in the shortest possible time without having to change the existing data structure.
