Case Study: Pimcore X Community Edition as Central Data Management for LOBO HOME

LOBO HOME distributes high-quality doors & frames as well as flooring under the brands LOBO DOORS and LOBO FLOORS. As a family business, LOBO HOME GmbH has been successful for over 30 years.

In the extensive project, the relaunch of the website and the creation of a new B2B online store for LOBO HOME were implemented with Shopware 6 Enterprise. Pimcore was implemented as the central platform for product data management and digital asset management (DAM). For the smooth data exchange between Pimcore and Shopware, the iPaaS integrator.io from Celigo was used. A 3D configurator was also integrated.

Flexible data management for online store and 3D configurator

LOBO HOME sells its high-quality products in numerous product variants to a specialized trade audience throughout Germany. The new website is therefore intended to strengthen the brands LOBO HOME, LOBO DOORS and LOBO FLOORS on the one hand, and on the other hand to support the company's sales partners at the point of sale and ensure fast and uncomplicated access to the LOBO HOME range. Website, B2B online store, PIM system and online configurator therefore had to be individually adapted to the company's needs. Particular challenges lay in the complexity of the project, the integration and customization of the configurator, and the orchestration of communication between the different systems. Product data and asset management is of particular importance in this project, as the data for the store and the online configurator is provided by the Pimcore platform. 45 colleagues from different teams were involved in the implementation of the extensive agile project.

Solution

Pimcore as central PIM and DAM solution

LOBO HOME uses Pimcore as a central instance for the management and provision of product data and digital assets for the online store and the online configurator. Product data and categories are transferred from the Pimcore PIM to the Shopware 6 Enterprise store system. Celigo's iPaaS solution integrator.io acts as middleware for the connection between Pimcore and Shopware. From the Pimcore DAM, images and 3D files are provided for the online store and the 3D online configurator by configuratorware. The complex configuration logic of the online configurator is completely mapped in Pimcore. In addition, data is exchanged between a connected ERP system and Pimcore as csv files. In total, about 210,000 data objects and about 14,000 assets are currently managed in Pimcore.
