Since mid-September, the company's website has had a modern look and has been adapted to the current corporate design. The focus of the conception was not only the graphic redesign, but especially the creation of a central data structure. For the technical implementation, Pimcore was used as the Digital Experience Platform with PIM, DAM and CMS.

Bringing order to product data
The company was searching for a solution to transfer its entire product data from different and individual ERP-systems to a central data-structure and -management. Users in different countries and from different teams should use the system and work with the data- and content integration. The easy enrichment of product data with marketing-content was also a requirement.
Frontendwise, the user should find the needed product quickly, add various options and spareparts and send the order request to M&C TechGroup. This service needed the consolidation of complex product data and should be easily done with the product-configurator.
Furthermore, the improvement of the sitesearch was a relevant task, in order to reduce service-request and guide the user directly to the needed information.
All in One - Central Data-Structure for Product Data with PIM
Core is PIM with its large product data-structure. The developement of a complex import-solution offers the automatic combination of data and information in data objects and organises them in categories, groups and products in Pimcore. After each automatic import the editor gets an overview of changes and so can easily check out, which part has been modified with the import. Due to the complex requirements, Elasticsearch was used as the engine for the sitesearch.
The editor can use around 40 content-modules in the CMS for the configuration of the individual website-content.
Simplified data structure - better data maintenance
The maintenance of imported product data and their enrichment with marketing content is much more simple now because of the central data management, so the company can keep data in a consistent state. New content can be checked and released quickly.
The intelligent filter within the product groups allows a better sorting of products and leads to a better result for the user. The product-configurator is clearer now and simplifies the order request of products with its individual options and spare parts.
The site search supports the user via autocomplete with search suggestions. The structured presentation of search results in a tab structure helps to find the relevant content. The used role-management enables the company to give different editors the ability to edit only their specific website area and -content.
