Case Study: P.V. Gruppe Concrete Manhole Configurator
The company specializes in the development and production of precast concrete elements for sewer construction and structural and civil engineering and offers a wide range of individual solutions.
Take an order data sheet, a pen and a lot of time. Until now, the P.V. Group had to rely on an analog process to accept and process orders from its customers. It's a complex process that involves countless combinations, requires expertise and involves a lot of communication. The desire for a digital solution increased visibly.

The challenge
When a customer wants a digital solution, there is usually an idea behind it that is supposed to achieve something, e.g., progress. In order to find out exactly what is needed for this, we go into action.
With the P.V. Group, we first had to analyze exactly how such a manhole could be constructed. What is possible, what is not? How should the order be processed? The idea in the specifications was still very vague. Tables like Excel? No, these do not ensure a positive customer experience.
With a lot of time and several iterations we came up with a solution that would work for the target group.
Solution
A complex product data sheet becomes the concrete manhole configurator
Together with the P.V. Group, we went through the analog process step by step, repeatedly moving, rearranging and rearranging things until everything was in the right place in the end.
In order to make it as easy as possible for the buyers and purchasers of concrete manholes, the new ordering system is put online. The configurator thus includes all the advantages that an online store also has to offer.
Since customers and sales share a common interface, this also simplifies communication. The order can be viewed and tracked at any time; important messages are sent by e-mail.
Results
One Digital Tool. Many positive changes.
The complexity of the many combination options has been reduced to the essentials. Ordering is now clear, the process fast and streamlined.
Using the system, employees can get an overview of the product range, learn about materials and shapes, and the options for combining them. In this way, the configurator also imparts knowledge along the way.
With the configurator, the P.V. Group can act independently and autonomously, as it functions like a content management system. A system, with which one can administer all its contents and thus change, supplement, extend. Thus it can be constantly developed and adapted to changes.
What was originally conceived as an ordering tool for construction companies established itself as a new standard within the company itself. Because with the configurator, the sales department also has an effective tool in its hands, which relieves its workload and creates more space for other activities.
