Challenge

Online store, SAP connection and cutting calculation

In the workshop, we identified some big challenges. Due to an existing marketing plan, we had to stick to a very sporty schedule. We knew from experience that we could not afford to lose any time, especially when it came to testing and designing the extensive SAP connection. That so that our developers, but also the developers on the side of our SAP partner company Data Unit, would later have enough time for the implementation. One of the requirements was a bidirectional interface that synchronizes product and customer data from SAP to Pimcore and vice versa.
Case Study: Monika Waser, Administration & Marketing
"After the first workshop, we were enthusiastic about all the possibilities that are available to us with Pimcore. Finally, we were convinced by the final product and especially by the fact that we were able to implement a new website including store and SAP connection together with w-vision in just under 3 months."

Solution

Common and advanced eCommerce functions

The online store is based on the CoreShop bundle developed by our development partner "Dominik Pfaffenbauer". It offers the customer common eCommerce functions to manage the orders and new customers or advanced possibilities to monitor shopping cart abandonments or set up multi-level discounts. The store was also enhanced by us with additional functions, logical processes and customer-specific requests, such as a wood cutting function or the automatic price calculation of remaining wood scraps. Particularly practical for the customer; all filters, categories, product descriptions and attributes available in the store are transferred fully automatically from SAP.
Case Study: Sandro Jenny, Project Manager
"Despite a very sporty schedule, we managed to implement various very challenging requirements for the customer. Thanks to the very flexible data handling of Pimcore, we were also able to fulfill special cases and customer-specific requirements, such as for the wood cutting calculation in the store."

A new source of revenue and efficient order processing

The fact that the customer, despite a tight schedule, was able to present its new online store as planned at Easter was also thanks to Pimcore's flexible data management. Thus, not only the online store, which was kept simple as desired, but also the sophisticated functions behind the facade, satisfied both the customer and its users. This project is a prime example that Pimcore is also the right digitalization solution for small to medium-sized companies, because in addition to an online source of income, Imprägnierwerk AG Willisau also benefits from efficient and automated order processing.
