SpaceRacers.org is a children’s television responsive and interactive website. The television series follows the adventures of the Stardust Space Academy cadets, the series focuses on scientific exploration and investigation along with the importance of cooperation.
The Space Racer marketing team needed to design a fully responsive and kid-friendly immersive experience to showcase Space Racers for the current generation of preschool children that use tablets and smartphones. Their design was going to be based on a feature and functionality review of 33 leading educational children’s television websites from the US and 16 countries around the world as well as extensive advice from child development experts.
As the web solution was being designed specifically for pre-school aged children, they needed a solution that had the flexibility to design the webpage exactly to their needs. They needed to create a mobile-first design (not just mobile-friendly) optimized for tablets and smartphones, and that will not rely upon Flash for the user experience. They also needed a modern HTML5 architecture. Their design plans included a unique navigational solution where key content links are distinct in shape and color as well as label and icon to appeal to the child.
„The team did a tremendous job in translating our vision into a fantastic looking website. “
Rich Schweiger, CEO Space Racers

SpaceRacers.org was successfully designed with a modern HTML5 architecture and became the first fully responsive and kid-friendly website for an educational children's television show in the United States. The web experience and the primary gaming experience is HTML5 instead of Flash — which means the web experience and game play works just as well on Apple’s iPhone or iPad as it does on a desktop PC computer.
With SpaceRacers.org having been designed with specific features for pre-school aged children, the website was a big success. Because of it’s kid-friendly design and ease of use, it generated many new users who were eager to utilize the children’s videos, games, and coloring pages. Because of the increased brand awareness, their series gained popularity and their number of viewers increased. The series’ popularity continues to soar as the mobile and tablet enhanced interactive children’s site continues to be a big hit for pre-school children around the world.
Gogo's legacy system was limiting their abilities to provide unique offers, scale up into new markets, and produce effective analytic reports. They needed an efficient CMS to help solve these problems.
