It sells brands like Mercedes-Benz, Smart, Jaguar, Land Rover, Maserati, Volvo, and Volkswagen. Their wish: to digitally network the individual warehouses and to build a sales platform for spare parts. For this purpose, the NagelCarGroup today relies on Pimcore as PIM and DAM.
For saleable spare parts, the quality of the data is of crucial importance, both the mass and class. The data must be coherent and comprehensive. The data in the existing ERP system and supplying data sources such as TecDoc were so rudimentary that they were not sufficient for cross-location networking and sales. It was available: Original manufacturer number (so-called OEM number), manufacturer and product name, category, warehouse location including the number of units, and product price. polargold was given the task of refining the product data in such a way that it could be used on different platforms.
The goal: Within the framework of an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) spare parts on its eCommerce site as well as on third-party marketplaces such as eBay-Motors.

An API connection records the inventory of the ERP system, through which all updates are automatically transferred. The ERP data is clustered by manufacturer and category. Besides, the data for the digital aftermarket is connected to the TecDoc interface of the TecAlliance. In the first step, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) numbers for the aftermarket manufacturers (IAM) were harmonized. We received a different number of manufacturers for each product. These were ranked, and the corresponding data was imported into Pimcore together with other assets such as images and documents. Within an individually created workflow, editorial content such as marketing text is integrated until a sales-ready database is available. The final status is then sent to the shop of the respective branch and published directly on third markets such as eBay Motors. One system for many brands and locations.
